Employment
Employment efforts are led through Family Fun Day and the Santa Claus Workshop, which serve as growing platforms for workforce engagement. Family Fun Day, in particular, is an annual community festival that currently attracts more than 200 residents of all ages.
While it provides a welcoming environment filled with music, games, food, and family-friendly activities, its long-term purpose is to evolve into a meaningful employment pipeline. As the event expands, it will connect residents—especially youth and young adults—with summer jobs, workforce training, and career opportunities.
Employers, community organizations, and service providers will be invited to engage directly with residents, helping remove barriers and make opportunity more accessible within the neighborhood. The event also integrates vital services such as health screenings provided by Wayne State University and fire and gun safety workshops offered by the City of Detroit, contributing to a healthier and safer community.
